MOLTEN BE THE FRUIT
In this body of work, I present to you the fruit of my hard labor. A long birth from which my molten sculptures are to make their way from my hands to adorn your bodies. I see my pieces as my garden seedlings whom I finally harvest for the very first time. They are all grown and have formed into beautiful blossoms and creatures. Their breath brings empowerment and offer reflection on the state of womanhood today. Fragile, imperfect, fluid, resilient and unstoppable. I see my jewelry as an armour of strength, a talisman of protection to ward off the hands of those trying to subdue us. Defiant and glowing, femininity in every format is a power to champion and cherish. Let us not be threatened by the weak of mind. Here is to a love letter of solidarity for us all, saluting our past and our future.
PS: this title lends a wink to Margaret Atwood, whose dystopic novel inspires me greatly. A giant, whom I had the immense honour to see wearing my earrings years ago, when she appeared on the cover of the TIME magazine.
